After the excitement of labor and birth winds down, claim this invaluable time to yourselves. Dim the lights, pull soft blankets around the two of you, and just be together. Explore every inch. Cuddle. Kiss. Listen. Remember...
As you stare deeply into one another's eyes, you'll be amazed at how your baby really looks like he's done this all before. That she knows something you don't. Whisper a greeting in your newborn's ear... Welcome earthside, little one. I'm so happy to be your mama.
I remember how surreal those first moments were, finding out what my baby actually looked like and unsure this could really be the right one!

This is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to experience this waiting and learning. Unfolding into each other.
Swoon.
My baby is 8 months now, and I still cannot get enough of her! I fall in love with her more every time she nurses (it's the only time she will cuddle!). I never want her to grow up!
